Two cuties.

Morgan and Elena both 4 months old.

Drywall...drywall...drywall...I made it out of gypsum.

This is Wednesday, Dec. 19th.

Holy Boom Batman!

The first thing to come through the front door.

These sheets are huge-12' by 48" and then 12' by 54" for the first floor walls.

That definitely knocks down the amount of seams.

House pics

Here are some house pics from the last few weeks. Some of these were taken with Eric's Mom's Nikon SLR so the file sizes are much biggger and will take longer to load than my Canon 2.1Mp powershot. I'm too lazy to reduce them, but I did put up the bigger thumbnail so maybe you wouldn't need to open the fullsize.

Here are some lethal icicles.

All noise is muffled in the garage with the exposed insulation. That should change with the drywall. The garage heater did help take the chill off before we got the house furnance hooked up. Although, I think I got conned there...

We don't have a lot of interior walls on the first floor. The "simple" floor plan really complicated HVAC, electric and plumbing. Most of the interior stud spaces are filled with something.

From the kitchen to the dining room.

From the breakfast into the mudroom and powder room. A pocket door separates the two.

The family room with the fireplace.

How'd that get in there...

Oh the weather outside is...

delightful, beautiful and making things difficult. As most of you know, Eric and I love the snow, but this has been a particularly cruel December. We have received 22.7 inches of snow and have had 0 time to play in it. Out of all the Decembers...

The house is of course still coming along. I did end up pushing all my dates back a week. Eric's grandfather passed away Nov. 25th at the age of 98. Elena had her first trip to Oklahoma to attend the service. On the way home, we ended up staying an extra night in Bloomington because we ran into the 1st ice storm. (The 2nd one was all snow up here.)

The fireplace got installed on Sat. the 8th. All our rough inspectioins passed Tues. the 11th. The insulation came Wed. the 12th. The heat got turned on Friday after we figured out the rumbling was the blower fan not screwed to the motor. (It's hard to stop a Trane when you can't START one!) Drywall is scheduled to arrive this Wed. the 19th. I cannot wait for this date because Eric will finally start talking to me about such fun things as paint colors, tile and flooring. His head has been too full for any of that so far. The pictures I took over the weekend didn't really come out. The snow was far too bright. So I will take some tonight to post.

But here are some other pictures to hold you over.
