The Homefront
The summer has been filled doing lots of things. Other than the usual going here, there, and everywhere. Eric's been helping his dad get the barn extension watertight. We also got the Cheddar Haus painted. Yea! It's no longer cheese colored....well unless the cheese has been setting out too long. At our own house, we've been working on getting the lawn in. Mostly watering, watering and then watering. (Planting grass in late July early August is probably not the best idea) Eric's been working hard turning sprinklers on and off, so the grass is coming up pretty well in most areas. We also spend a good deal of time slaloming the trees at the perimeter to keep the grass down. This way they can grow nice and tall. The next thing on the exterior list is pavers. Since we brought the land up more than 5 feet and even though it was compacted and done in stages, we still aren't convinced the sidewalk won't settle and crack up. Soooo...we decided to go with pavers. After obsessing (well mostly me obsessing) over different paver catalogs and what we can get for the best price, we finally picked one. Now if only they would come in, so we could get it done this weekend because the next few weekends are booked!
